Looking back on 2025…

This will be the last post of 2025 (anything posted outside of this has been copied over from my website blog to keep this publication robust!) and it’s kind of wild that a full year has already gone by.

At the start of the year, I was primarily helping women heal their guts, while simultaneously working through my Fertility Awareness Mastery certification. I had this very clear intuition that if I truly wanted to help women long-term, I needed a deeper understanding of hormones, cycles, and fertility. Because it was very clear that women needed different recommendations sometimes than the most popular wellness trends and even some of the evidence based advice (ahem, intermittent fasting) that I had learned about in my previous programs.

I’m ending the year with a practice that can confidently support women through fertility, PCOS, and perimenopause with more ease, empowerment, and control over their bodies than when they walked in.

That evolution didn’t happen by accident. It happened because I followed the data, listened closely to women’s experiences, and kept asking better questions.

This year, I’ve helped 5 women conceive naturally. All them had been told they’d likely need some form of medical intervention. That includes women with PCOS, long histories of hormone imbalance, and prior losses.

I’m incredibly proud of that work.

It’s incredible that when women understand their cycles, support ovulation properly, and address what’s causing their imbalances instead of bypassing it, the body often does exactly what it was designed to do.

An 83% success rate in this small but meaningful sample is especially striking when you consider that IVF success rates, even in younger, otherwise healthy women, tend to land closer to 40–50%, and decline with age.

More importantly, these women didn’t just get pregnant, they gained clarity, confidence, and body literacy that will serve them far beyond this season of life. Postpartum, perimenopause, supporting their daughters. This information is truly priceless.

It’s the most rewarding work I’ve ever done, and I’m excited to focus on it even more intentionally in 2026.

So… now what?

Now, I rest.

At least business-Lauren rests…because what even is rest when you’re a mom of two trying to make Christmas (and general holiday) magic happen for the next two-plus weeks?

Still, I’m trying to practice what I preach.

A healthy body (and a healthy hormone system) needs downtime. Chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation are some of the biggest root causes of the health challenges I see in women every single day.

We try to run businesses.
Crush it at work.
Be supermom.
Show up for everyone.

And we ignore the subtle signals our bodies send us when it’s time to slow down.

Let me leave you with a “do as I say, not as I do” kind of story to inspire your rest this season.

My shoulder/back muscle (the one that hates shoulder abduction workouts on my Evlo app) started feeling just a little off. Nothing alarming. Just minor discomfort.

So… I kept working out.

Then, on a day when I was already stretched thin trying to wrap up 2025 with two kids home thanks to unexpected Colorado “wind days” (a blog post for another time), my entire right neck and shoulder seized up.

I kid you not. I could not move my neck by the end of my last client meeting of the year.

I should’ve rested at the very first signal. Or at least slowed down.

But like so many of us, I didn’t listen. And eventually, my body made the decision for me.

*I’m fine - but can’t wait to get to my nervous system focused PT for some TLC so I can enjoy Christmas morning without a heating pad!

The last hormone recommendation for the year from me…

The secret does not lie within a new diet.
It’s not exercising more just because you have time off.
It’s not waiting until January to start a complicated new wellness routine.

The real secret is learning how to down-regulate.

To truly unplug.
To do less.
To give your nervous system a break. And your body a chance to catch up.

Especially as we try to enjoy this season with the people we love.

Lauren of Calibrate Health and Wellness and her family wishing you a Merry Holiday sesaon.

Wishing you and yours a very merry end to 2025.
Calibrate will see you in 2026 🤍
